  • This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking tools.
  • Fonts and images are served from our own server. Visiting the site sends no data to Google or any other third party.
  • We only process personal data to run the website, answer your messages, handle purchases and receive feedback from our apps.
  • We do not sell data and do not share it for advertising.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the website knieses.ch in all languages and all subpages. Our apps have their own privacy policies:

We follow the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to a processing activity, we comply with it as well.

3. When you visit the website

With every request, our host's web server automatically stores technical details in log files:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of the request
  • requested address (URL) and amount of data transferred
  • HTTP status code
  • browser and operating system (user agent)
  • the previous page (referrer), if your browser sends it

We need this data to deliver the website, keep it secure and find errors. We do not use it to build profiles and do not combine it with other data. The logs are deleted automatically after a short time, according to our host's settings.

4. No cookies, no analytics, no third-party content

This website uses no cookies and no tools for audience measurement, analytics or advertising. The typeface (Schibsted Grotesk) is loaded from our own server. No third-party content such as videos, maps or social media buttons is embedded.

The website uses small scripts in your browser for animations and switching languages. When you switch languages, the page loads the other language version from our own server. So that a click on «Apps» or «About» takes you to the right place after changing pages, your browser briefly keeps that target in session storage. It is deleted right away. When you switch languages, your browser saves your choice («de» or «en») in local storage, so your next visit opens in your language. None of this is sent to us, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

The website links to other services, for example Apple's App Store, GitHub or getmink.ch. You only leave our website when you click such a link. From then on, that provider's privacy policy applies.

5. When you write to us

When you email us, we process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message. We only use this to answer your request. We delete the correspondence once it is settled, unless the law requires us to keep it.

6. Former Aevum waitlist

Until Aevum launched, you could join a waitlist on this website. The waitlist is closed and we no longer accept new sign-ups. For people who signed up, we stored the email address, language, consent and time of sign-up in order to announce the launch. The legal basis was your consent.

You can withdraw it at any time by sending a short email to contact@knieses.ch. We then delete your address right away. We delete the remaining entries once we no longer need them.

7. Feedback from our apps

In Aevum and Vivere you can send us feedback directly from the app. The app sends your message and whatever you enter in the feedback form to our server, which forwards it by email to our mailbox for that app.

To prevent abuse, the server keeps the device's IP address for a few minutes to limit the number of requests. It also logs the time, the app and whether delivery worked, without the content and without the IP address. We only use your feedback to improve our apps and to reply to you if needed.

8. Purchases, licence keys and subscriptions

On knieses.ch you can buy Knieses Workshop and Mink Unlimited. For this we process:

  • Payment: Payment runs through Stripe (Stripe Managed Payments). Stripe acts as the seller and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy. Stripe gives us your email address and identifiers for customer, subscription and payment, but no card details.
  • Licence server: Our licence server runs on Supabase (data centre in Frankfurt). It stores your email address, the Stripe identifiers, plan, status, expiry date and a checksum of your key. We do not store the key itself.
  • Emails: We send keys and management links through Resend (Ireland region).
  • Checks in the apps: Mink, Aevum and Vivere ask the licence server from time to time whether your key is valid. They only send the key and the app's name.
  • Workshop from the App Store: If you get a key for your other apps in Aevum or Vivere, the app sends the purchase confirmation signed by Apple. We ask Apple for the state of your subscription and store the subscription identifier, the app, status and expiry date. We do not receive an email address or Apple ID.
  • Thank-you page: After a purchase, your key is in the part of the address after "#". That part is not sent to our server.

We keep this data while your licence is valid and afterwards for as long as statutory retention duties require. On request we delete your customer data earlier; your key then stops working. Stripe, Supabase and Resend may transfer data to the USA; the European Commission's standard contractual clauses apply.

9. Hosting and email

The website, the feedback endpoint and our mailboxes are run by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. The host processes data on our behalf and only as far as needed to provide its service. The servers are located in Germany.

10. Transfers abroad

Because of the hosting, data is processed in Germany. Germany is part of the EU, which the Swiss Federal Council recognises as providing adequate data protection. We make no other transfers abroad on this website.

11. Legal basis

Under the FADP we process personal data lawfully, in good faith and only for the purposes described here. Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Running and securing the website and preventing feedback abuse: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
  • Answering your messages and feedback: your request and our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR)
  • Former Aevum waitlist: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)

12. How long we keep data

  • Server logs: briefly, according to the host's settings
  • IP addresses for feedback abuse protection: a few minutes
  • Emails and feedback: until your request is settled, unless legal retention duties apply
  • Former Aevum waitlist: until you withdraw consent or we no longer need the entries

13. Security

Connections to this website are encrypted with HTTPS. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Only people who need it for their work have access to mailboxes and servers.

14. Your rights

You can ask us at any time which personal data we process about you. You can also ask us to correct inaccurate data, delete data or restrict its processing. You can object to processing, withdraw consent and receive your data in a common format.

Write to contact@knieses.ch. We reply within 30 days. To make sure we do not hand data to the wrong person, we may ask you to confirm that the request comes from you.

If you believe we are not handling your data correctly, you can contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern. If you live in the EU, you can also contact the data protection authority in your country. We would prefer to sort it out with you directly, though.

15. No automated decisions

We make no decisions based solely on automated processing and do not create profiles.

16. Changes

We update this policy when our services, our technology or the law change. The version published here at the time of your visit applies.
